Best Chinese food in town! I have been going here for years and the food is always great. The menu is really more pan-Asian than Chinese or Thai. My favorites are the salt and pepper squid, the Udon noodle soup, Singapore rice noodle, Malaysian curry soup, veggie spring rolls, summer rolls, and shrimp dumplings. The decor of the restaurant isn't fancy but it is always clean, my family often orders take out and they do deliver. It is a family owned restaurant that uses fresh ingredients. Since everything is made to order they can accommodate food needs (vegetarian needs or allergies) The prices are very affordable and they have a great selection of lunch specials.

I ate in at Wave Noodle on a Friday night, which was an odd experience, because the restaurant was completely empty apart from me. So my first tip is: if you are craving ambience, order out! But if you do eat there, you should know that the service is actually very good. I ate drunken noodles, which were tasty, although incredibly spicy. The dish overall was much less sweet than the kind of sweet-spicy drunken noodles you might expect from another Thai place. But it was well prepared--not amazing, but tasty. So, 4/5 sounds about right.

I tried this because everyone said it's a WCU staple blah blah blah. As a recent implant to West Chester and graduate student at WCU I followed others. Listen y'all, others will lead you astray. I ordered the food as a pickup and wow it was just not good. Sauce had so much excess water that I had to drain my food in the sink. The rice was so hard that I had to make my own. I would have been better off just staying home and making my own dinner.

Tried this place for Chinese takeout a couple weeks ago as we are trying to find a go-to place for Chinese that will get it right most of the time. They do both Thai and Chinese but we're not big Thai food eaters, mostly interested in the Chinese. Ordering process was smooth, delivery was speedy and the delivery person had no problem finding our house. Got a couple of entrees, egg roll and a dumpling appetizer. The entrees were reasonably decent. I'd say they were OK. This is a compliment since we have ordered from at least two other Chinese places in the area where the food was so bad we never went back. Wave Noodle was definitely better than that. We did notice that the food was pretty bland - we didn't order spicy things from the menu, and don't normally go for the spicy, but usually the non-spicy has a little more flavor. This was most apparent with the dumplings which seemed to be filled with un-seasoned plain meat. The dumplings are one thing we would not order from there again. Aside from the dumplings, the food was decent enough that I'd probably order it again, though it wouldn't win my Best Ever Chinese Food award.

Pass by the spot a lot. So tonight decided to try it. Got take out. Got a few noodle dishes and some apps. Possibly the worst asian cuisine I have ever had. The spring rolls had zero filling. Just a rolled wonton wrapper and fried. Other dish was just noodles and steamed chicken. Zero seasoning or sauce or flavor. Not even worth talking about the rest of the food we got. Huge disappointment. Maybe it was an off night. I won't be making a return trip to find out.

De-freakin'-licious, and well worth the prices. The family that runs the place is nice! And the Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango is a unique but crazy tasty dessert. (Avoid the Pad Thai, though.)

If I remember correctly, the place opened up either year 2000 or 2001 and eaten there regular basis until 2009. Their shrimp pad thai was my favorite meal. I have not eaten there over a year, but I sure do miss the pad thai with extra peanut sauce.

We loved the Wave Noodle...wait, let me re-phrase that...we USED to love the wave noodle. We went in over the weekend, everything seemed the same but the one woman (and her family) was not there. There is a new guy host and we didn't think anything of it. We ordered our favorite chicken satay (that is normally grilled and comes with an awesome peanut sauce as another reviewer just mentioned) and it came out completely fried, "red" in color (which was just weird) and with a chili sauce. As we always do, we ordered the red curry chicken and the drunken noodles. The red curry chicken tasted similar to before, but the drunken noodles had chunks of noodles still stuck together and with no sauce...Not the same at all. I also read a Yelp review that said to get the pineapple shrimp fried rice....it came out and the shrimp just tasted weird, was rubbery and while our food was cooking - we heard a microwave beep from the kitchen. I assume it was the nasty rubbery shrimp. Usually they have music on, but these new people apparently dont know where the stereo or the heat (as it was freezing in there) is located. We asked the guy host if they changed owners, he said no and that the old owners are on vacation....I dont know if this is true though (and it saddens me) as we saw they crossed off the old Wave Noodle website address ( wavenoodlepa.com ) and penciled in a new one ( wavenoodleus.com ). So why would they change the website address if the old owners were just on vacation? Sounds shady to me and like the old owners might be gone. I really hope the old owners will come back, but our favorite chinese/thai place in West Chester just is not the same. :(

Wave noodle... every time I've been here the place has been totally and completely empty except for me and some friends. I love wave noodle because it is cheap, cheap, and more cheap. I also love the family that owns/runs the place. It's also a really comfortable place to sit down with friends and just have a great time on the down side, the food is just okay. If you're looking for that greasylicious, comforting chinese that you pine for during a late-night study session... don't get it from here. If you're looking for a cheap lunch/dinner with friends in a casual place with friendly staff then go for it. CONCLUSION: friendly people that serve okay chinese food... and they deliver! quality: meh... price: awesome

Have been going to the" Noodle" for years and telling all my friends about it. The decor is plain but i actually go for the great food. I am originally from New York and have eaten at many Asian restaurants. The Noodle is a real find. Even more so in West Chester PA. We go a least once a week. I have not had a bad meal ever. I prefer the Thai to the Chinese but they do a great job with both. The pricing is amazing i hope they can stay in business with such low pricing i would hate to see them go. Did i mention it is BYOB oh yes! You can spend a long time talking and eating with friends and they are not pushing u out the door. Actually the decor is quaint and like many good Asian restaurants in big city Chinatowns.

I ordered lunch here the other day. A coworker recommended it based on yelp reviews. I've ordered here before, and never been terribly impressed, but haven't had a problem with them either. The decor is pretty run down. There's tables, but I would never eat here. I called at 12, and ordered a szechuan beef combo with fried rice and soda, general Tso with fried rice and soda, and sweet and sour chicken with fried rice and soda. It seemed like I was the first person to ever order szechaun beef, because it took her a long time to understand me. They told me 15-20 minutes. I show up at the place, and see three people arguing with the guy behind the counter. They're obviously on their lunch break, since all three have the same uniform on. I wait patiently, while they try to sort out what's wrong with their order. Apparently, they were charged for the dinner instead of the lunch, and one of them was told on the phone that she could substitute the soda with an iced tea, but he was charging her $2.50. They're obviously agitated, and turning around to me saying they should have gone to mcdonalds. They finally leave, in a bit of a huff, and I approach the counter. I say 'Picking up", and he goes 'Szechuan chicken?' I put my confused face on, and say 'no, it should be beef, with a general tso and sweet and sour?' He says 'oh, ok, $24.95'. I said 'What?' kind of laughing, and he show me the receipt, and it's all rung up as dinners. I calmly tell him, 'Nah, these should all be lunches. It's lunchtime, man.' So he goes in the back, and they must have remade the beef because it took a while, maybe 8-10 minutes. I wasn't in a hurry or anything, but I was picking up for people who were waiting on me. He rings me back up for lunches, and I check the order before I leave just to make sure I got everything I was supposed to. I'm glad I didn't do delivery. Now, sub-par customer service I can deal with, I'm patient. Maybe the girl who put in took the order was new, maybe there's a language gap, whatever. I wouldn't give a bad review based on that. But the food was terrible. The fried rice had the smell and taste of old burnt oil, like the taco spinner thing at 7-11. The rice was listed in the menu as vegetable rice, which I guess is technically true, but the only vegetable in any abundance was white onion, and I think I had 3 tiny pinky-nail sized carrot slices and about 5 peas in the whole order. I'm pretty sure the rice was made last night. The sweet and sour chicken was tiny little pieces of chicken breaded and fried in the same nasty oil. I got a little 1 ounce shot of sauce on the side. Literally, it was the size of a dixie cup, filled half way with a lid. The sauce tasted alright, just not much of it. The general tso order also had really small chicken, he said it was all breading. Both of those orders were a little cold, probably from sitting around while they remade the beef. The beef he had no complaints about, just the rice sucked (yes they used the same old rice). In West Chester, you can much do better than this place. For the same price, you can hit up Great China or No. 1 China and get much better quality, both of food and staff. For a little bit more money, there a fusion place next to Acme in West Goshen Shopping Center, and another one by Shop Rite in that shopping center, and you can sit down and eat at either of those. If you are reading this and standing outside the restaurant debating if you should go in, cross the street and get something at America's Pie. Maybe a 1 star is unfair, they might have just had a bad day. But it looks like old reviews are driving up this places average and the curve needs to be adjusted.

We have enjoyed Wave Noodle for over 7 years! They have recently changed their menu, which was unexpected. They did away with some of the lighter Thai dishes, not all of them, but they have added some of the more usual Chinese-American dishes that are blah, blah on every Chinese restaurant's menu. They replaced a delicious chicken satay & chunky peanut sauce with a chicken teriyaki and thick, less flavorful peanut sauce. I'm not sure which direction Wave Noodle is heading, but we are loyal and are willing to give it some time. We really don't order Chinese food from any other restaurants in West Chester, because Wave Noodle is really the best. Not greasy, not heavy and seasoned just right. Enjoy Wave Noodle, we sure do!

I'm still not sure what to Make of Wave Noodle. The sign outside proclaims Chinese, yet it feels like the menu veers towards Thai, which I greatly prefer. On my first visit, I tried the Pad Thai, papaya salad and MaPo Tofu, and was severely underwhelmed. The Pad Thai was bland; the MaPo was average and I'm pretty sure the papaya was daikon. I would've given that visit 2 stars. However, I tried another attempt with the Thai style veggie green curry lunch special, and was incredibly pleased. For under $6 I received a very generous portion of vegetable rice and curry, along with a side salad. The curry was delicious, and was immersed with fresh vegetables and thai basil. Yum! I'm averaging that out to three stars. I guess I'll have to see what else on the menu is tasty.

Place rocks! For the price you can't get much better food in West Chester. The owners are the nicest people. Get to know them & frequent & you'll get an occasional "on the house" dessert. Best Chinese in WC.

We have eaten here for the last two years. great food at reasonable prices. I love the wide selection of curries, and noodles! Dine in, don't expect ANYTHING fancy, just a table, and great food.

For a cheap chinese place, everything is fine except the food. Boring ambiance, tolerable service, nothing good to eat. I got the curry, which was limp. Wife got the pah thai, a plate of noodles and nothing else. Desert was an over-fried spring roll filled with mush of banana. Inedible. A friend of mine raves about this place, I'm not sure why. Wave noodle wants to be to Kingdom of Vegetarians on 11th Street in Philly, my current favorite dive chinese place, but fails miserably. I wanted to like this place, but can't.

To clarify my rating I would like to say the food warrants a 2.5-3 but because of the prices I bumped my overall rating to 4. And they deliver! It's hard to find places that make Thai food that deliver (at least in my experience). As mentioned by other reviewers, the Pad Thai is not so great but their curries are decent and you can't argue with the prices (even for "dinner" rates). Bottomline: If you want good Thai for dinner go to Jazmine, if you want something that passes for Thai for bottom dollar (or want delivery), check out Wave Noodle.

wow. i hope they have good standard take-out or American chinese food, cause i haven't had a single good thing here yet. i ordered pho, not expecting it to be great or anything....but it was horrible. overloaded with thick noodles, thick cuts of beef, nothing good about the pho. dumplings were a big FAIL. the skin was so thick, and the meat was barely flavored. no bueno!

I just are here for the first time. This is a favorite place my brother likes to go to and he brought me here. I'm SOOO glad he did!!! My brother's fav soup in the Tom Kha Gai (#202). I was hesitant to try it, but WOW was it delicious!!!! For dinner I had the Pad See Yue beef. It was AMAZING!!! The place isn't much to look at, but please don't let that stop you. The food is down right amazing!!!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
